Emart 600W Photography Photo Video Portrait Studio Day Light Umbrella Continuous Lighting Kit

This is a very versatile set of photography lights. It does the job well in an inside setting. This kit is not rugged enough for outdoors but really adds to a photography shoot- as you can see in my pictures. Here are three of the features of this kit:

– Pop-up flash: This shows what most people’s photos end up looking like. Flat light with harsh shadows behind the subject. This is not my favorite feature of this set.

-Silver umbrella: Bringing the light in front and to the side of the subject allows for soft but direct light on the subject. You get stronger contrasts and more depth to the photos. This reflector did a great job of providing easily adjustable light with minimal adjusting.

-White umbrella: The white umbrellas serve the same function as the silver except that they diffuse light more softly around your subjects features.

StudioPRO All In One LED Product Photo Light Kit 24″ Cube

Fantastic value! I can’t believe this cost under $100.
I’ve constructed light boxes in the past for professional work then spent over $100 on the lights. This clever design sets up in a couple minutes and folds flat for easy storage.

The light level is perfect for modern digital cameras and the illumination is very even…the images look great and need almost no touch up.

I would have been happy with the product at double the price.

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Full Frame Digital SLR Camera Body

I write this review from the perspective of an advanced photographer who does the occasional video. For three and a half years, I owned the 5D Mark III; its responsiveness and the image quality it delivered with a good lens made it less a camera and more an extension of my mind and eye, faithfully recording the grand landscapes, events, and decisive moments I was privileged to see. The upgrade to the IV was more a personal choice, rather than from being compelled by any major limitation of the III. I’ve used it now for more than a month, and feel I know enough to write a review.

Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens for Canon EOS SLR Cameras

I am a hobbyist and this review is for people like me. What I mean by that is that I take pictures for fun and nobody buys my pictures. I mostly shoot landscape, nature, and portraits of family, friends, and relatives. I will refer to 24-70mm as the 70, and the 24-105mm IS as the 105. I first made the mistake of buying the 70, then I returned it with a hefty restocking fee and bought the 105 – I don’t have the slightest regret and I could not be happier. I’m taking my time to write this review so that you can spend your hard earned money wisely. Let’s analyze the trade-off between the two:

* Both lenses have excellent build and image quality. So these are not differentiating factors.
* The one and only advantage of the 70 is the one smaller f-stop. For me, this means more blur when I shoot portraits, so this is all good.
* The advantage of 105 over the 70 are as follows:
– You get an extra 35mm, which is 50% more zoom. I like this.
– You get a 3-stop IS. For me, this is a great advantage, because I rarely use tripods and IS saves the day. I would choose the 105 over 70 for the IS alone.
– The 105 is 10 ounces lighter and close to half an inch shorter.
